Gerardo: If you look down the Mt. road from the zum Tuerken the rear driveway and the front driveway to the Berghof is right under the Tuerken. You can walk back the driveway and the retaining walls are to the left and a plaque describing the area to the right. If you follow the trail you will come to the Documentation Center, a very good tour.

Good question. Time on the sever is correct, although wordpress was set to a timezone of GMT+1, which is obviously wrong. I've now set it to Europe/London, although the entry remains dated 14th Jan. Hopefully it'll be correct from now on anyway.

Thanks for pointing that out. :)

The above large air raid siren was given to the museum by me in 2000.This was after I had managed to salvage it from the roof of Chorlton Police station circa 1992 when it was decided by the powers that be ,that all sirens would be scrapped. There was a lorry outside the police station which had about 30 of these upon it.It then was then placed in my garage and I then donated it to the museum.I was informed at the time that they had looked for one and could not find one. They were very happy to receive the said artefact.

Thanks for photos. I am (73) and helping a gent of 88 to record his memories whilst in the RAAF. He is a retired Qantas engineer who started his career looking after a variety of aircraft both here in Australia and in 1945 in the UK. I can put a couple of these photos together with those of East Kirby airfield, where he was for a short time, in his folder for his family to see. As as child at school I was always drawing planes, especially the Lancs, and the V1 and V2 towards the end of the war. Thanks again.
