This tunnel can be found near Berchtesgaden Hauptbahnof (central station). One of the tunnel portals is situated at the far end of the station car park.
At the end of the war, a train full of Hermann Göring’s art treasures was found inside the tunnel.
Today, the tunnel has gates at both ends and is being used as a store room.

As the end of the Second World war approached, a train full of art treasures accumulated by Hermann Göring was parked in Berchtesgaden railway station. So as the treasures would not be damaged he had it moved into this tunnel.
When the French troops arrived they machined the train.
