Eder Dam, Edersee

View across the Eder dam. The dam was breached by the bouncing bomb — invented by Barnes Wallis — as part of Operation Chastise, in May 1943.

The Edersee, from about 1/3 of the way across. The Edersee is a popular destination for water-based leisure activities.

In the distanec is Waldeck castle.

Building that is half way across the dam.

View of the dam from the other side.

A beautiful sunset setting on the Eder dam.

Electricity generating equipment at the bottom of the Eder dam.

One of the ways to access Waldeck castle is via the Waldecker Bergbahn.

Near to the dam is a museum about the bombing and destruction of the dams. There is a bouncing bomb outside.
