2009 – Duxford Flying Legends

A quite enjoyable day. Unfortuantely The Fighter Collection aircraft were not up, due to a dispute with the CAA, who according to the organiser Stephen Gray had decided to check all of the paperwork for the planes going back to the 1940s.

There was still a reasonable range of aircraft however, including the Three Horsemen P-51 Mustang Acrobatic team. Incidentally, there is an excellent cockpit video of the Horsemen here. It was nice to see some classic German aviation represented with the Junkers Ju252 and the Messerschmitt Bf 108.

The weather was passable with the cloud clearing up later in the afternoon – it had ominously started to rain earlier, but thankfully this only amounted to a few drops.

  2. Thankyou for the great pictures of the airday. Unfortunately i wasn’t able to go so i really appreciate those who did sharing their photo’s. Next year how about loading all the CAA bods into Sally B’s bomb bay and dropping them far out at sea? Interfering muppets!!
