The museum entrance.

View of the massive concrete dome.

Tunnel into the hill beneath the dome.

The rusty remains of part of a V2 rocket.

Tunnels underneath the dome.

The remains of machinery.

In order to turn the plance into a museum, a hole was made into the wall in order to allow heavy machinery to get in. This photo illustrates the thickness of the concrete – it took huge quantities of explosives, and took weeks to penetrate.

Great pictures Chris.
I’ve visited La Coupole on a couple of occasions – it’s an awesome structure and knowing what the place was capable of I think we should be grateful to Barnes Wallis & the RAF that they managed to do the damage they did..
