The casements at Batterie de Longues-sur-mer are rather close, and view directly, onto the English channel. They formed another part of Hitler’s Atlantic wall.

The battery is quite unusual in that there are a considerable number of guns remaining at the casements.

More gun remains at Batterie de Longues-sur-mer.

Some of the casements are quite heavily destroyed.

Chris:
I’m sure you already know this but, if you walk toward the Channel, there’s an observation post right on the shoreline. Love your sire, well done an thanks, it brings back wonderful memories of my visits to Normandy.
Regards,
Fred
