Batterie de Crisbecq

Batterie de Crisbecq is located only several miles from
Batterie d’Azeville.

The main battery casemate was severely damaged by explosives.

A safe?

Walkway down to the bunkers.

I believe this room was used for testing explosives, hence the damage to the concrete, with the steel rebars being visible.

Severe damage from a shell hitting the building.

Telephone.

A building that was started but not completed – just the foundations exist.

One of the gun positions.

  1. on my first visit only the command post? was really visible, the gun positions were covered in brambles etc.My second visit 60th D Day anniversary it had all been cleared and was very interesting especially its involvement with the Landings and sinking of an American destroyer plus the d’azeville gun batterie well worth a visit.
